The Department of Biochemistry was started in 1995 with B.Sc course in Biochemistry. In 1998 M.Sc Course was added. The department is proud to receive university ranks maintaining 100% result. The department is provided with a well equipped laboratory. Apart from the basic apparatus is a good number of sophisticated instruments are also utilized and the chemicals have been stored adequately.

There is a well established library available for complete reference from where students can borrow books . The qualified and experienced staff of the department take care of students individually and personally. The performance of the students are continuously monitored and their progress intimated periodically. The department has earned the distinction of producing quite a number of university ranks.
